Age: 18 years
Height: 171cm/5'6"
Appearance: Accurate to icons: permanently rumpled medium-build Japanese teenage boy. He's not astoundingly twiggy, but still has filling out to do. For now he's wandering around in his school uniform. He also usually has a leather bracelet like this on his right wrist; the leather band looks like it was cut by a 5-year-old.
Medical: For all medical intents and purposes, he's a normally functioning, reasonably healthy human. He's had chronic episodes of pain and weakness throughout his life, so he's not super fit, though. (He's not unfit, either, but he's been forced to constrain his activity level somewhat up to this point, and it probably shows.) These painful episodes are no longer a thing!
Pings: Not technically human! He probably pings as a mystic science space energy alien changeling if you can sense that sort of thing. He's the product of ~super advanced alien tech~ sent to gather data about Earth society. To use the canon terms, he's a Core Child, a materialization of cosmic energy in human form, born from a Core Switch.
Powers: These are all latent, Kengo does not know he has any of them anymore, and I may or not play with them depending on the circumstances that arise!
☆ Breathing in outer space
☆ Glowing unnecessarily
☆ Some kind of energy shield thing
☆ Manifesting the Core Switch (is this really a power though)
☆ Closing wormholes (maybe??? idefk how that was supposed to have happened)
☆ Turning the Fourze System into a Spacegate (this is totally irrelevant and here for my reference)
So, actually, this is kind of questionable, because Kengo's powers are all dormant for most of his life, and then he functionally dies and gets resurrected and we don't... really know what happens to them after that. In the last two minutes of the finale, somebody asks him if he's a normal human now and his answer is like... "I hope so/that would be nice," and then it's never spoken of again. However! Powers are fun and Fourze is very handwave-y, so I am going to say he does still have some under certain circumstances, based on my own wild conjectures.
As far as I can tell, Kengo is a manifestation of cosmic energy, maintained by the Core Switch, except the manifestation was of an actual human baby or at least... fully functioning imitation one. The show is not super specific about this, but it's implied that the Core Switch was a dematerialized part of his body throughout his life, until he ~awakened~ to full awareness of what he is, at which point it rematerialized outside of him. (It sort of floats out of his heart while he lies unconscious and glowing, it's very Utena.)
Before the Core Switch manifests, the only power we see Kengo have is the ability to fling cosmic energy around in a totally uncontrolled manner under highly inconsistent circumstances of extreme duress. After it manifests, he's clearly able to control his powers, and can breathe in space! (But maybe he could have breathed in space all along if he had tried? This never comes up.) Also he receives a special Core Child infodump.
Then the main villain breaks the switch and Kengo dissolves into glitter. (The dissolves-into-glitter thing is why I think the switch was maintaining him all along.) But then the main villain reforms and uses his dying breath and healing space powers to fix the switch, and Kengo wakes up in his room, without the Core Switch, the painful episodes that were a previous consequence of the mental block preventing him from knowing his true nature, or any real memory of how he got there.
I am going to play this as meaning that the repaired Core Switch remanifested Kengo and integrated itself back into him the way it had been before, except that since the mental block is gone, that didn't result in a resumption of the painful side-effects of being an unawakened moon baby. For maximum fun, and because I don't think it breaks any of the show's internal logic (such as it is) I'm going to say that Kengo can breathe without an atmosphere; also, that in high stress situations he can fling cosmic energy around a little, but inconsistently and without any measure of conscious control.
I'm also going to say that it's not impossible for the Core Switch to materialize out of Kengo again if the circumstances are right; maybe the Theater can draw it out of him, or exposure to someone else's ~mystic powers~ might do it. His own willpower and determination to do something impossible might even cause it.
If the switch does materialize, it will give Kengo conscious control of his power again, but it'll also leave him vulnerable to attacks on it. Besides the fact that if someone steals it, they can instakill him by smashing it, I'd probably play with the idea that there are more subtle ways to use it to control him, since... in some sense it is him? But that would be really situational.
